The COSEA app and “Voices of the Sea” mural connected the public with marine conservation.

The TRANSEATION project took part in the I Sustainable & Solidarity Cup, held during La Manga Festival 2025, bringing marine science closer to citizens through two interactive activities.

Science citizen for one day

Participants enjoyed exploring the COSEA app, the Science Citizen AI-powered tool developed by SPOTTERON to identify local species and learning about their ecological value.

Voices of the Sea – Wall of Commitments

Festival attendees shared personal messages, drawings, and pledges for a cleaner Mediterranean, contributing to a collective mural that reflects community engagement.

What stood out most was the genuine curiosity of visitors, many of whom expressed relief and hope in discovering that European projects like TRANSEATION are actively working to deliver practical solutions for healthier marine ecosystems.

This positive exchange underlines the importance of citizen science and public participation in advancing marine conservation and the Horizon Europe Mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters”.

White board named "Voices of the sea" with colourful stickers containing messages to the sea writen by children.
