Citizen science and innovation shine at Cabo de Pop
The project organised a bioblitz activity, where every registered participant attended and used the COSEA app (developed by partner SPOTTERON) to record marine species. The 100% participation rate highlighted the enthusiasm of citizens to contribute directly to monitoring the health of coastal ecosystems.
In addition, the “Voces del Mar” mural invited children and adults to share drawings and messages dedicated to the ocean. This creative space became one of the highlights of the festival, demonstrating the strong emotional bond between people and the sea.

SAITEC’s SATH Reef Unit: Turning turbine blades into marine habitats
TRANSEATION’s partner SAITEC also presented a mock-up of the innovative SATH Reef Unit, part of the DemoSATH project. Designed from repurposed turbine blades, the unit provides habitat for marine life and supports biodiversity around floating wind platforms.

The event was a clear success, showing how citizen science and innovation can engage the public, strengthen knowledge, and inspire collective action for marine protection.
